Working with grouped workplanes

When a grouped workplane is active, any geometry created is grouped with the workplane. A relationship is built between this geometry and the workplane. A grouped workplane has a dashed line style appearance when deactivated.

To make an existing workplane into a grouped workplane, use one of the following methods:

To create all future workplanes as grouped:

  1. Click File > Options > Application Options to display the Options dialog.
  2. Select the Object > Workplanes page.
  3. Select Grouped.
  4. Click OK.

To add objects to an active workplane group:

  1. Ensure the group workplane is active.
  2. Select the objects.
  3. Click Workplane tab > Group panel > Add to Group.

To remove objects from any grouped workplane:

  1. Select the objects.
  2. Click Workplane tab > Group panel > Remove from Group.
