Edit Default Surface Material Types

Learn how to create, manage, and edit surface material types in your project.

  1. Click Quantities tab Roombook Extension panel Surface Materials drop-down (Edit Surface Materials).
  2. Edit the surface material types using the tools described below.
  3. Click OK to accept the changes made to the surface material types.
  4. You can now apply the types to rooms.
Name Description
Family Specifies the Roombook surface material type library loaded for the project. Use the (Load) tool to use another file. See Surface Material Types in Roombook.
Type This drop down selects a surface material room type to view and edit its default material.
(Load) Loads a new Roombook surface material type library into the project.
(Duplicate Type) Duplicates the currently selected surface material type as a copy. Rename and edit the defined surface materials for the type.
(Rename Type) Renames the currently selected surface material type.
(Delete Type) Deletes the currently selected surface material type.
Material Source Specifies whether the selected material is defined by the Revit element (By Element) or user-defined (Custom).
Materials

Displays the currently applied material for the surface. If the Material Source parameter is specified as By Element, then Roombook will use the material Revit defines for the element. Click the Ellipses to open the Select Surface Materials dialog.

Using the arrow buttons in the dialog, move materials to be used on the surface to the right column. Remove materials from a surface by moving them to the left column.
