Video: Place Parallel Conduit

Place conduit parallel to an existing conduit run.

This video demonstrates the following:

1. Use the Parallel Conduits tool to highlight the existing conduit.
2. Create a conduit bank.
3. Specify concentric or same bend radius for the existing conduit.

In Revit, you can easily add conduit parallel to an existing conduit run.

To begin, click the Parallel Conduits tool, and then move the cursor over the existing conduit segment to highlight it. As you move the cursor over either side of the segment, a preview image of the parallel conduit displays. Press Tab if you want to select the entire conduit run.

In this case, the object is to create a conduit bank consisting of two stacks of four instances each. So you specify these quantities on the ribbon, along with the desired offsets. Next, you specify whether you want the bends or the new conduit to be concentric with the existing conduit, or to use the same bend radius. After selecting the desired options, you click to place the parallel conduit.

Parallel conduit can also be added to existing conduit that is connected through a surface connector on a piece of equipment or connected to a cable tray.

Revit makes it easy to draw parallel conduit by using an existing conduit run as a guide.
