Vault Client Installation from Autodesk Account
After you have installed the Vault Server, you can install the Vault client on any client machine. In addition, you can create a Custom Vault Deployment, and select language and a specific version of vault client installation.
What is the Autodesk Vault Client?
A Vault client is any stand-alone application or integrated add-in that connects to the vault server to access files and perform vault operations.
The Vault clients work with the Vault Server, sometimes referred to as the Autodesk Data Management Server. The Vault Server must be installed and configured before the clients can access the server.
Note: Vault clients that integrate with an Autodesk design application require a licensed installation of the corresponding Autodesk application. Refer to the hardware and software requirements for each product.
Vault Add-Ins for Supported CAD Applications
All the Vault CAD add-ins are installed together with Vault Client. CAD products installed after the Vault client is installed will automatically have the Vault add-in available.
Before Installing
- Close all Autodesk and Microsoft applications before installation.
- Disable any virus scanning software before installing.
- Make sure that the Vault Client release that you are installing matches the release year of the Autodesk Data Management Server that you installed. For example, if you are upgrading to Autodesk Vault 2025, both server and client components must be upgraded to the same release year. Refer to Upgrading Vault for more information.
