In Alias 2026, we've included new modeling tools, including Soft Proportional Modification, Variable Offset, and Subdivision Check Model tools. We've also made several improvements to the Trimming tools, which makes your trimming workflows more efficient.
Curve Curvature locator: The Curve Curvature locator now creates a gap in the comb plot when measuring curvature across a trimmed areas of a surface.
Project and Attach tools: Chain Select has been added to the Control Options of the Project tool and Attach tool.
Freeform Curve Blend: A New Rebuild option rebuilds the input curve-on-surfaces (COS) and isoparms as a 3D curve, which is then used as inputs to create the output blend curve. This option is only available when one or more inputs are curves-on-surface or isoparms.
Freeform Surface Blend tool: You can now specify the continuity settings for Side 1 and Side 2 of the freeform surface using the in-canvas manipulators.
Subdiv Bevel tool: The original subdivision edge is now preserved when you set Divisions to a value of 2.
We've added Keep Originals as an option in the Place tool.
Subdivision trimming: You can now select a subdivision object and use it as a projection object for trimming another subdivision surface.
