Building Results Data Fields (InfoWorks)

Building results are displayed in the Object Properties Window while viewing a replay of a simulation.

Time varying results are shown with the field name in an alternate colour on the grid. Non-time varying results have the field name in the normal black type.

Effective rainfall

This is the total depth of rainfall on impervious surfaces, minus evaporation.

Y

EFFRAIN

Rainfall profile

The rainfall profile applied to the building during the simulation. During most simulations this will be the profile entered in the Rainfall profile field. When using a Rainfall Event containing rain-gauge boundary data, this profile depends on which rain-gauge boundary contains the drainage node.

RAINPROF

Evaporation profile The evaporation profile applied to the building during the simulation. This is the profile that is specified on the Evaporation profile field in the building's properties. EVAPPROF
Exceedance volume

Applicable to a building that has its Limit drain to capacity box checked.

The total volume, in excess of the Capacity limit, from the building that is either lost or directed either to the 2D element where its Drains to node is located or to its perimeter.

VO V_EXCEEDANCE

Runoff

The maximum flow from the building roof.

Q

RUNOFF

Total outflow

The maximum total outflow (runoff and SUDS control net outflow) from the building

Q

QCATCH

Exceedance flow

Applicable to a building that has its Limit drain to capacity box checked.

The maximum flow, in excess of the Capacity limit, from the building that is either lost or directed either to the 2D element where its Drains to node is located or to its perimeter.

Q

Q_EXCEEDANCE

Max enclosed volume

The maximum volume within the building experienced during the simulation

VO

MAXVOLUME2D

Max flow into building

The maximum flow into the building experienced during the simulation

Q

MAXFLOW2D

Max highest depth

The maximum highest depth value experienced during the simulation.

Y

MAXHIGHDEPTH2D

Max highest elevation

The maximum highest elevation value experienced during the simulation.

A null value will be displayed if elements associated with the building are dry throughout the simulation.

Total outflow

The total outflow (runoff and SUDS control net outflow) from the building

Q

QCATCH

Exceedance flow

Applicable to a building that has its Limit drain to capacity box checked.

The flow, in excess of the Capacity limit, from the building that is either lost or directed either to the 2D element where its Drains to node is located or to its perimeter.

Q

Q_EXCEEDANCE

Enclosed volume

The Enclosed volume result is calculated as the sum of water depth x element area of all 2D mesh elements within the building boundary.

VO

VOLUME2D

Flow into building

For each 2D mesh element that the building polygon intersects:

  • The component of the unit flow normal to the boundary is determined
  • The unit flow component is multiplied by the length of the boundary segment intersecting the element

The flow into the building is calculated by summing the flows across each boundary segment.

Flow directed into the building is counted positive and flow directed out of the building is counted negative.

Q

FLOW2D

Highest depth

The maximum of the depth values, at a given timestep, of all the 2D mesh elements inside building boundary

Y

HIGHDEPTH2D

Highest elevation

The maximum of the elevation values, at a given timestep, of all the 2D mesh elements inside the building boundary.

A null value will be displayed for timesteps at which the elements associated with the building are dry.

Z
