Exercise 13

This exercise teaches how to use the Wall dialog to measure hydrodynamic forces and thermal values on a surface or group of surfaces.

  1. Click Wall Calculator from the Results tab:

  2. Select Shaded from the Quick Access toolbar:

  3. To choose an interior surface, we will need to hide exterior surfaces that are in the way: Click View (tab) > Appearance (panel) > Surface Blanking to cause surfaces to be hidden instead of volumes.

  4. Hide the side surfaces of the cabin by holding Ctrl and middle clicking on the surfaces, and select the center section of the rear seat:

  5. In the Wall Results dialog, check Pressure and Temperature. Click Calculate.

  6. View the calculated values in the Output tab.

Note: This is a very useful way to determine temperatures and forces on one or more surfaces.
