VRED 2026.2 What's New

If the What's New for the latest release doesn't appear in the help, here are two suggestions for accessing it:

  • Ensure the current version of the software appears in the URL. For example, for version 2026 help, the URL would be: https://help.autodesk.com/view/VREDPRODUCTS/2026/ENU/.
  • For dot releases (2026.1, 2026.2, etc.), if they aren't listed in the What's New, try a different browser, as this is a caching issue.

What's New in 2026.2

VRED 2026.2 introduces significant enhancements, including Alias to VRED Live Referencing, which now supports importing variant data, environments, and curves from Alias. The release also brings improved material handling with new Sheen layer support for Plastic materials and a new Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing (DLAA) mode, which aims for higher image quality. Vulkan includes upgrades for better color grading and auxiliary visualizations in display clustering. Additionally, new hardware-accelerated streaming supports more codecs, including H264, H265, and AV1, for enhanced performance. General improvements include added reference nodes to the Scenegraph filter list and support for layered shaders from Alias.
