We added support for the X-Rite and Substance Sheen parameter by adding Sheen layer support for Plastic materials. When a plastic material is selected, in the Attributes, a Sheen section is found with the following options:
We added DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing) mode, as an alternative to the DLSS quality options. DLAA focuses on enhancing visual quality at native resolution and only denoises and antialiases. It employs AI to produce detailed frames without upscaling, which requires greater processing power. However, with a powerful NVIDIA RTX GPU, DLAA can provide superior image quality at all resolutions.
We removed support for 6.0 and 2014 BRDF models and now only support the latest BRDF model (GGX), as it is the only model supported in Vulkan. An informational dialog appears and the BRDF model is automatically converted. As a result of this change, the BRDF Behavior option was removed from Render Settings and the BRDF Behavior and Update BRDF Behavior from File options from the Render Settings preferences.
This option enables VRED to use all available CPU cores used for raytracing. When enabled, Number of Cores is disabled, as VRED will use whatever is available. Find this in the Render Settings > General Settings > Options section.
We added dithering to the alpha channel for MR to reduce banding on shadow materials.
