Properties Dialog

This dialog displays a database item's properties. It is displayed when you right-click an item in the database tree and choose Properties from the popup menu.

Note: The About Box is displayed if you right-click the database rather than an item in its tree.

The dialog contains the following pages:

• Object

  General information about the item's properties.

• Layer List

  Only displayed when viewing the properties of a Layer List. It shows which layers are contained in the Layer List, and which map component the layers work with.

• Description

  A description of the item. This is editable for most items.

• Owners

  Only displayed if:

  • User permissions have been activated. See User Permissions for more details.
  • You are viewing the Properties of a Model Group.

  This page lists users who are Owners of the Model Group. Owners have administrative rights over the Model group.

  A database owner can choose to apply User Permissions to a database, and appoint Owners for Model groups in the database. With permissions in force, Owners can carry out all operations on a Model group. Other users can only view data in the Model group.

  Note: The properties dialog of a "child" Model group will only display owners that have been specifically appointed to that group and will not display owners of parent groups. For example, if parent Model Group A with owner 'user1' has a sub Model Group B, 'user1' will only appear in the properties dialog for A although 'user1' will also have full edit powers over B.

• Simulation

  Only displayed when viewing properties for a simulation. It shows the time the run was performed and its status.

• Hyperlinks

  Details of any hyperlinks associated with the item.
