Dynamo 4.2.1 introduces Autodesk Assistant in Dynamo, DynamoMCP, new templates for more efficient graph-building, and more.

Highlights include:
- Autodesk Assistant in Dynamo: Autodesk Assistant is now available in Dynamo. Autodesk Assistant can explain and troubleshoot your graph, place and connect nodes including code blocks and custom Python nodes, manipulate data, build complex geometry, and more. You direct it by typing your prompts and instructions in the chat.
- DynamoMCP: DynamoMCP is now available. An MCP (Model Context Protocol) server exposes a program's tools and data so an AI client can read live context, take actions, and return structured results. With DynamoMCP, Autodesk Assistant can take action on your graph. You can also give Autodesk Assistant in Revit access to Dynamo's tools by opening Dynamo during your Revit session.
- New templates available: Templates are graphs that come with pre-built nodes and information, providing a shortcut to graph-building. Three new templates are available:
- Create a graph
- Import and export workflow
- Make a custom node
- Create a workspace based on a template: You can start a new graph based on a template by going to the top navigation menu and selecting File
New
From Template... The templates folder is read-only, which prevents unintended edits to the templates.
