You can define the following properties for wood materials on the Appearances tab in the Material Editor panel of the Material Browser dialog.
Property | Description |

Image File | The image to use to represent the surface of the wood (the wood grain). See Specifying an Image File for a Render Appearance. |
Stain | Whether the wood is stained. |
Stain Color | Color of the wood stain (when Stain is Color). Click the color swatch. In the Color dialog, select a color. (See Colors.) Click OK. |
Finish | Texture of the finished surface. |
Used For | Purpose of the wood: Flooring or Furniture. |
Relief Pattern | Relief pattern to use on the finished surface. To define the relief pattern using an image, select Custom. See Specifying an Image File for a Render Appearance. |
Amount | Relative depth of the wood grain, when Bump is Based on wood grain. Enter 0 for a flat surface, a positive number (between 0 and 10) to raise the grain, or a negative number (between 0 and –10) to reverse the grain. |
