Wood Properties

You can define the following properties for wood materials on the Appearances tab in the Material Editor panel of the Material Browser dialog.

Property Description
Image File The image to use to represent the surface of the wood (the wood grain). See Specifying an Image File for a Render Appearance.
Stain Whether the wood is stained.
Stain Color Color of the wood stain (when Stain is Color). Click the color swatch. In the Color dialog, select a color. (See Colors.) Click OK.
Finish Texture of the finished surface.
Used For Purpose of the wood: Flooring or Furniture.
Relief Pattern Relief pattern to use on the finished surface. To define the relief pattern using an image, select Custom. See Specifying an Image File for a Render Appearance.
Amount Relative depth of the wood grain, when Bump is Based on wood grain. Enter 0 for a flat surface, a positive number (between 0 and 10) to raise the grain, or a negative number (between 0 and –10) to reverse the grain.
