Getting Started

Autodesk Viewer is a free browser application that lets you upload, view, and share designs for products such Revit and AutoCAD, or with one of the many supported file types.

Users aren't required to have or understand specific design software in order to use Autodesk Viewer. To start viewing, they just need the design file or a shared link. With the ability to share entire models online, you can quickly get the feedback you need from colleagues and stakeholders.

Start Using Autodesk Viewer

To start using Autodesk Viewer, you need an Autodesk Account. You can create one on the Autodesk Viewer homepage.

Once you log in, you'll see the the Design Views page where you can upload and share your designs.

Upload a File

Before you can view and share designs, you need to upload files to Autodesk Viewer. Autodesk Viewer supports many 2D and 3D file types.

Autodesk Viewer will automatically convert your design files to a representation of the designs. When sharing those design views with your stakeholders, they will not be able to access and edit the source files.

To upload a design:

  1. From the Design Views page, click Upload new file.
  2. Drag & Drop your file, or choose from where you would like to upload your file or files.
  3. When you have selected all files you want to upload, click No more files.
  4. You can close the page while the file processes. You will receive an email when your design view is ready.
