Create deployments from the classic installer

Audience: Administrator
Installation services: Classic (Find out if your product uses classic or improved installation services)

If your product creates deployments from the classic installer, specify these deployment settings:

  1. Provide a name for the administrative image to be generated in the deployment process. Choose a name that uniquely identifies the deployment and clearly differentiates it from other deployments.
  2. Browse to the network share folder you created for the administrative image and enter the unique name there.
  3. Choose whether to include only those products required by this configuration. If you select this option, you can't later modify the deployment to include other products. If you don't select it, you can modify the administrative image.
  4. Choose whether to run installations in silent mode. If you do, users don't interact with the deployment process as products are installed on their individual computers.
  5. Choose whether to create a log file in the Temp folder for each computer. If you do, users can access the file to review and troubleshoot their own installations.
  6. Choose whether to create a network log file in a central location. This file allows you to review data from all installations. If you create a network log file, put it in a shared folder where users of the deployment have read/write access.
