Learn about new and enhanced features in Autodesk® BIM 360™ Account Administration.
Now when adding a member to a next generation project, a Project Admin can add a company that doesn't exist yet in the Company Directory. When a project admin searches for a company name that doesn't in the account, there is an now an option to add a new company. All newly added companies are recorded in the account admin activity log.
To learn more, see To Add Project Admins/Project Members.
To make it easier for your project admins to access BIM 360, we have simplified the email notification process. Now when you add project admins from either the Services page or Project Members page, if they are an existing BIM 360 member, they will not have to accept an email invitation. They will receive an email notification, but no action is required. This simplified access for existing BIM 360 users has been available from the Unified Project Administration area that was released in November and now applies to all Project Admin and Project Member invitations.
On the Project Members page, now you can hide and show the right filter panel to see more details for each user. To hide or show the panel, click Filter as shown here.
Recent Project Member page enhancements include project member photos and tooltips to identify modules and access levels.
Account Administration now supports French as a project language for BIM 360 Field.
European account administration URLs are now consistent with the unified next generation format: admin.b360.eu.autodesk.com. Existing URLs will automatically redirect to the new URL.
BIM 360 now provides a more unified approach to project administration and project member management, which is easily accessible to both Account Admins and Project Admins.
The newly redesigned Project Members page displays which next generation (next gen) modules (Document Management, Field Management, and Model Coordination) and classic apps (BIM 360 Field, BIM 360 Glue, and BIM 360 Plan) each project member can access. Account and Project Admins can now add and manage next gen service members and admins on this page.
The new "Manage Classic Apps" menu provides access to Project Admin for the classic apps, from which member access to these services may be managed.
When adding or editing project members, admins can assign a project role, such as Architect or Superintendent. This role sets the members default access level for each next gen service module. Admins may accept these defaults, or change them by clicking the access level icons.
Account Admins can manage project members for next generation modules without having to first add themselves to the project as a Project Admin.
When adding a project member from the Add Members page in Project Admin, if that person is already a member of the account, they will now be auto-activated. Members can immediately access their projects without having to find the invitation email or click a link to activate.
Account Admins can now see account and project level management activities in one consolidated admin activity log. For example, when an Account or Project Admin adds, edits, or removes a project member, that activity is logged.
As part of the unified project administration for the growing set of BIM 360 modules, now next generation Project Admins can view and edit access to all next gen service modules. Project admins can also access the project services page, where they can activate services which are enabled for your account.
IMPORTANT: In order to streamline project administration for the growing set of BIM 360 modules, we have provided next gen Project Admins with the ability to view and edit project member access to all next gen service modules. They can also access the project services page, where they can activate project services which are enabled for your account. Please note that this is a more open and unified approach to Project Administration. If you are concerned about this more open approach, we recommend that you notify your next gen Project Admins about their expected behavior and also review the Account Administration Activity log.
As part of our ongoing transition to a unified BIM 360 platform, Account Administration is now more closely aligned with project administration.
Now with the module selector, you can navigate between Document Management (BIM 360 Docs), Project Administration, and Account Administration.
Now project admins can see a full list of their members across BIM 360 services, with the ability to see which BIM 360 services that have access to, their status, and their project roles.
As part of the phased transition to a unified administration module, the Manage button is for project admins to navigate to the BIM 360 service manage page where they can add users to their projects. In a future release, project members will be added directly on this page in unified account/project administration.
Now the Project Admin services page has been improved to provide an overview for each service associated with your projects, as well as links to your active BIM 360 services.
Our BIM 360 product vision and roadmap includes moving towards a unified, single platform. The latest version of BIM 360 Account Administration includes a migration to our next generation BIM 360 user experience. We've designed our new and improved UI to make this transition as smooth as possible.
All of your accounts, projects, members, and data will be fully accessible, and navigation to features and functions is clearly labeled.

The URL for Account Administration has changed to https://admin.b360.autodesk.com/. The previous URL will automatically redirect to the new one, ensure that your admin workflows are not interrupted.
The latest version of BIM 360 Account Administration includes improvements to user management, BIM 360 API Projects Endpoint, and other enhancements.
For customers with large data sets, page loading performance is greatly improved in the Member Directory, Project Directory, and Company Directory.
The BIM 360 Get Project API endpoint published on Forge now provides visibility into which services are activated in a project. The Post Project API endpoint supports activating a new service for a project and adding a project admin through the API.
Account Administration now includes Chinese as an option in the project language setting to support Chinese language projects in BIM 360 Field.
The latest version of BIM 360 Account Administration includes usability enhancements and a streamlined process for adding Account Admins.
You can now invite Account Admins from the Member Directory. To start adding Account Admins, select Members > Add > Invite Account Admins. Previously, you could only add account admins in the Account Settings tab.
In the Member Directory, we've also added tooltips to explain the different ways to add members to the directory and how to add members to a project. We have also provided instructions on how to invite Project Admins and add members to a project.
We're introducing the ability to connect third party apps and integrations built on the Forge platform to your BIM 360 Docs projects and data. With this preview update, account admins can now invite developers to extend the BIM 360 Docs functionalities by connecting data from Docs to the rest of your construction eco-system. Third party apps can now connect to Docs within your account to read/write drawings, models, and other documents. Forge Data Management API provides the functionality for accessing the Docs data.
Account admins in BIM 360 can already invite third party developers to connect apps built on Forge platform to automate account admin functionality. We're now adding the ability to control the access levels and specify if a developer should have access to Administration or Docs or both.
IMPORTANT: Apps and integrations is available in limited preview mode only to BIM 360 Enterprise customers. At this early stage, we encourage you to try the new functionality but we do not recommend that you use the Docs capabilities for production level work at this time. If you have any questions or want to learn more about connecting a third-party app to your account, please contact Autodesk Developer Network or Autodesk Consulting.
This feature is only available for Enterprise accounts.
Autodesk is launching a new BIM 360 API as part of the Autodesk Forge Developer Platform. The BIM 360 API allows developers to develop apps that integrate with the Autodesk BIM 360 platform to extend its capabilities in the construction ecosystem.
The account-level functionalities of the BIM 360 API allow customers to connect their BIM 360 accounts with external applications in their construction ecosystem. They provide secure access to your BIM 360 accounts, serving as the single point of integration for projects, partner companies, user management, and other account-level information. They enable better-connected workflows across the project lifecycle, shared data across the project team, and construction insight across your project portfolio.
BIM 360 Account Administration provides the front door into BIM 360 accounts. We are providing a preview of the new Apps & Integrations feature in Account Settings. This new feature allows Account Admins to connect integrations developed on Autodesk Forge Platform to BIM 360 accounts.
BIM 360 Glue is now integrated with Unified BIM 360 Account Administration (HQ). Now all BIM 360 products: Field, Glue, Plan, and Docs can be centrally managed in account administration.
For more information on the Glue - HQ migration, see Transitioning to Account Administration for Glue Admins.
Access unified sign in to all BIM 360 products from the Account Administration help menu or from BIM360.autodesk.com
A new HQ in-product messaging service went live so we can communicate more directly with BIM 360 customers about important changes that directly impact BIM 360. The first set of messages announced the upcoming Glue integration with a link to a detailed help topic on the transition.
A new dashboard displays the remaining time before the account renewal date, and the total projects, companies and users across BIM 360 products. It displays members by type: Internal Users and External Company users. The dashboard also displays the distribution of projects and companies by types.
Control over the addition of new partner companies in BIM 360 Field can now be set from BIM 360 account administration. This new setting enables Account Admins to choose whether or not to allow Field project admins to create new partner companies as part of their typical work in BIM 360 Field. Disabling this feature means that any new partner companies must be added from BIM 360 account administration.
With this new release, Account Admins will be able to copy Field project settings as they create new projects in HQ (Enterprise Administration). This will streamline the process of copying custom fields, issue types and other project settings onto new projects. As you activate Field on a new project, you will have the option to select an existing project from which you would like to copy these settings. You can also choose to copy companies or locations to the new project.
To support customers who want to enforce the use of standard templates Project Admins will no longer have access to this feature from the Field Project Admin page.
Account administration is now available in German. Account administration language support is now consistent with current language support in BIM 360 Field.
You can create a project profile and save it after step 1 and edit it at any time afterwards. This allows account administrators to enter project profile data at any time before they are ready to initiate a specific BIM 360 service. You can activate one or more project services when you create a project (step 2) or at a later time. For example, if you create a project and activate Field, later you can go back to that project and activate another service such as Plan.
As the BIM 360 solution grows, this will make it easier to use or try new BIM 360 services such as a construction document management service on any existing project. You would simply activate a new service.
Now editing an existing project is also more straight forward. In the Project List, you can click any project to go to project details. In project details, you can edit the Project Profile or edit Services and Admins. As new BIM 360 products and services become available in the future, it will be easier to add them to existing projects through the Services & Admin tab.
BIM 360 users access BIM 360 with their Autodesk ID which they also use to access many other Autodesk products and services. In the Member Directory, the Last Login column for each user was previously displaying the last time the user logged into any Autodesk service. Now the field will display the last time the user logged into your BIM 360 account.
For example, if you are the Global Construction company and a subcontractor signed into your Global Construction account on 10/01 and into another Autodesk product such as AutoCAD 360 on 11/01, the Last Login column will now show 10/01, which is the last date they accessed your BIM 360 account. To implement this change and ensure that the data was consistent, we needed to clear the existing data. This field will be blank until the next time the user signs into your account. From that point forward, it will reflect the last time they signed into your account.
As the BIM 360 construction software family continues to grow, it is essential to connect the product line with unified account, project, partner, and user data. This unified data enables collaborative workflows across the project lifecycle, information sharing across the project team, and connected data to fuel construction insight in the future.
To simplify and accelerate the connected future of BIM 360, we have begun rolling out unified enterprise account administration, starting with BIM 360 Field and BIM 360 Plan.
Now, Account Admins can manage information across projects and products. You can view directories of projects, partner companies, and users, capturing data across projects and services. And you can manage your company logo and business units.
Account Admins can create a project profile once that is shared across BIM 360 services. Project information like the project name, project type, ID, start and end dates, physical address, and project image is managed centrally at the enterprise level. Product specific information relevant to a project is managed by the Project Admin in the specific product.
Account Admins activate project services like Field by inviting a Project Admin. A Project Admin manages project-specific information for their area (in this example Field). A Field Project Admin can easily copy projects, invite other admins and team members to join, manage companies, templates, checklists, and issues.
In the end, BIM 360 account administration will accelerate your business transformation by allowing for better connected workflows across the project lifecycle, shared data across the project team, and future construction insight across your project portfolio.
