Export and Import Naming Standard

Setting up a naming standard can be time-consuming and you may want to re-use it in another project. You can export your naming standard and import it to another project.

Export Naming Standard

  1. Click the More menu on the right.

  2. Select Export.

The naming standard will download to your local download folder as an XLSX file.

Import Naming Standard

You can import a naming standard to a project where a naming standard isn't already applied. You can also import a naming standard to a project where a naming standard is already applied as long as the enforced folders don't contain files.

You must use an XLSX file which is either of the following:

  1. Click the More menu on the right side

  2. Click Import

Note: You won't be able to import a naming standard when files exist in the enforced folders.
  3. Drag your XLSX file into the upload area or click choose a file to select from your local drive.

  4. Select Import.

If your project already contains attributes with the same name as those in the imported naming standard, you can resolve these duplications with the following options.

    • Keep both: Create new attribute with modified name.

For example, the existing project attribute Phase is retained and a copy is created as a new attribute in the naming standard named .

    • Merge: Add attribute values to existing list. This will combine the imported values with the existing values in the existing attribute.
    • Replace: Overwrite existing attribute details and values. The existing attribute will be full replaced by the imported attribute. This action can't be undone.
  5. Click Apply or Resolve and apply where relevant.

Once the the naming standard is imported and applied, you can customize the attributes and other settings.
