Submit Items to a Manager

Items created by a contractor must be submitted to a manager. The manager can either group items into packages for review or can submit the items to reviewers.

If a manager is submitting an item on behalf of a responsible contractor, the manager must submit the item to another manager. Submitting to a manager changes the status to Required, which is necessary to add items to a package.

Note: Attached documents can't be separated from an item, and items can't be part of multiple packages.

Click Submit to Manager in the Action banner to send an item to a manager.

Tip: You can submit multiple items to a manager using a bulk action.

Import Multiple Items

Managers can do a batch import by using an Excel spreadsheet. In the Project Management module:

  1. Select Submittals.
  2. Click Import.
  3. Download the sample Excel file.
  4. Add submittals into the spreadsheet starting on row 4.
    • The Spec section number needs to match an existing spec section (it is case sensitive). If the spec section doesn't match, a new spec section is created.
    • The Submittal Type column is a drop-down menu.
  5. Click Browse.
  6. Navigate to the file on your local computer.
  7. Click Open.
  8. Click Import.
