Submittal Attachments

Learn about adding and reviewing attachments in submittals.

While items contain specific documents, viewing attachments differs by role. Reviewers view documents in a package. Managers and contractors view documents from Items.

Add Attachments

Attachments to items can only be made from a local machine (they can't be selected from Document Management).

There are two ways to attach a file:

  1. Click Browse to navigate to the location on your computer where the file is stored.
  2. Drag files into place with a Windows Explorer window open.

Once attachments are added to items, use the Activity section of an item to add comments about the attachment.

Review Attachments

Review files in items

Managers should review attachments before items are added to packages. If packages have not been created, managers must review attachments from the Items area.

  1. Click the Module Selector .

  2. Select the Items secondary tab.

  3. Select the desired Item for review.

  4. Click Attachments to view the attached files.

  5. Select a file from the list.

    Note: Some files, such as Word or Revit files, force a download automatically. PDFs preview in the browser.

The package can be submitted to a reviewer once all items have been added to it.

Review attached files in packages

  1. Click the Module Selector .
  2. Select the Packages secondary tab.
  3. Select the desired package for review.
  4. Select an item from the list in the package.
  5. Click Attachments to view the attached files.
  6. Select a file from the list.
Note: The markup tool can be used to collaborate on attachments.
