Simulate Model

Simulate plays your schedule against the model over time, so you can watch construction progress visually instead of reading dates in a list. Simulate steps through the schedule using the activity and model object links to show and hide objects as their dates arrive so the building appears as the Gantt progress. It helps teams spot sequencing issues and communicate the plan without separate 4D software.

Run a Simulation

To run a simulation, you need:

• View permission or above
• A model added to the schedule
• At least one activity linked to a model object. Only linked activities will be shown in the simulation.

1. Click Simulate.

   

   The system will prepare the simulation by processing the linked activities and model objects. When the preparation is complete, the model will display below the list and gantt.

   

   You can now take the following actions:

   • Play:
   • Pause:
   • Adjust speed: Click 1X (default speed) and choose from 0.5X or 2X speed as necessary.
   • Click activity: Clicking an activity jumps the marker and model to that activity's start date. The marker always shows its current date — idle, playing, or paused after a jump. Clicking an activity to jump auto-pauses an in-progress playback; it stays paused at the jumped-to date until Play is pressed again.
   • Show unlinked objects: Unlinked objects are hidden by default. You can click the Unlinked objects toggle to show all unlinked objects.
