View and Unlink Objects
Once you've created links between activities and model objects, you can view and manage links for the relevant activities.
View an Activity's Links
In List & Model view, the Model linking attribute shows an icon when the activity has:
Links to one or more model objects
Rules applied using autolink but no links are created as no objects currently match those rules.
- Click the icon to:
View the linked model objects highlighted in the viewer (if any).
Open the model object panel
The model object panel shows:
How many model objects are linked to this activity (if any).
How many rules apply to this activity (if any).
A search bar where you can search for objects by name.
The name of each object linked to the actvity.
Linked by rule: This indicates which objects were linked by a rule created by autolink or link with filters.
You can select one or more objects to highlight them in the viewer.
You can also choose to unlink one or all objects as follows:
Unlink objects
Members with Update permission or above can unlink objects. The effect of unlinking depends on whether a link was created manually, by autolink, or with filters. See About Links and Rules to learn how different actions affect rules and links.
Unlink one or more objects
If the link was created:
- Manually: Removes only that link.
- Using autolink or with filters: Removes the link and adds the object to the activity's exclusion list so it won't relink automatically when a new model version matches it again.
Select one or more objects and click Unlink.
The warning dialog confirms that the object will be unlinked from the activity.
Click Unlink.
Note: If you select all objects, this has the same effect as unlinking all objects.
Unlink all objects
If you unlink all objects from an activity, this will remove all links and rules from the activity.
Click the More menu at the top right of the panel.
Click Unlink all.
Click Unlink all in the dialog.
