There are a few scenarios where you may need to sign in to Desktop Connector:

Note: The Tray Icon will display a yellow dot Offline Icon when you are signed out and the yellow dot will clear when you are signed back in Online Icon
Important: With the release of Autodesk 2024 and 2025 products the sign in process may require you to sign in twice depending on the version of the software you are using in combination with Desktop Connector version.

Sign In After Installation

After you have Installed Desktop Connector, you will automatically be asked to sign in as part of the start-up process. Simply enter your Autodesk credentials to start working with Desktop Connector.

DC Sign In

A Connector is created in File Explorer for each supported data source associated with your Autodesk credentials.

Sign In After Sign Out

If you've previously signed out, click the tray icon and the home screen will prompt you to sign back in.

DC Sign In After Out

  1. Click DC Sign In After Out
  2. Enter your Autodesk credentials.

Alternatively, you can right-click the tray icon and select DC Sign In After Out.

Changes that were syncing in Desktop Connector when you signed out will now resume syncing to your cloud data source.

Sign Out

Signing out will pause the syncing of any in-progress changes in Desktop Connector. If you need to sign out, try to wait until all changes are synced to help avoid any potential conflicts if another user has modified the same files in the cloud data source. To check if you currently have files syncing for each connector, see:

To sign out:

The Tray Icon will display a yellow dot DC Tray Icon Pending when sign out is complete.

Using Different Autodesk Accounts on the Same Device

If you and another user share the same device, you may want to sign in and out of different Autodesk accounts on that device.

Important: Signing in to Desktop Connector with a different Autodesk account will cause all the previous user's cache, settings, and project data (including all Desktop Connector workspace files) to be deleted. Synced files can still be accessed in the cloud, however files that are not synced will be deleted from local workspace and will not be available in the cloud. Therefore, it is recommended that one Autodesk account user has successfully synced all file changes prior to another Autodesk account user signs in to Desktop Connector.
