Fusion - Work Offline or Forced Offline
Topics in this section
Overview
You can work offline in your connector without being connected to your cloud data.
Offline Scenarios
You are offline if:
- You choose to Work Offline: Select Work Offline from the Fusion home screen menu.
- You are Forced Offline: Occasionally there's a critical issue with Desktop Connector, Autodesk may temporarily place Desktop Connector into Forced Offline mode to prevent data loss.
The tray icon displays a yellow dot to indicate you are currently in offline mode.
Choosing to Work Offline
- Click the tray icon and select Work Offline from the menu in the home screen.
Desktop Connector will prompt you before going offline down to confirm whether files need to be synced beforehand.
Forced Offline
Autodesk may temporarily place Desktop Connector into Forced Offline mode to prevent data loss if there's a critical issue with Desktop Connector.
Managing Files Offline
- Designs with local copies on your machine are available while in offline mode.
- Any files opened within the past 15 days are available in offline mode.
- Changed files are stored locally and uploaded as new versions when you get back online.
- If a file change was made in the cloud while you were offline, any changes made to that file locally while in offline mode are not uploaded. The cloud change has priority.
- The Delete Local command only deletes the local copy. You must be online to delete a file in a connector and have it also deleted from your data source.
- Moving files or Renaming files is unavailable while in offline mode.
Get Back Online
If you have been Forced Offline, you will receive a desktop alert once Desktop Connector service has been restored. To get back online if:
- Service is restored; or
- You want to exit Work Offline mode
- Click on the tray icon and unselect Work Offline.
The tray icon's yellow dot disappears to indicate you are back online.
