The holding area setting is a project-level setting that controls how files are uploaded when non-compliant files exist in the selection. Non-compliant files are files which contain attribute values that don't comply with a folder's naming standard or required attributes.
Uploaded files are first checked in the file validator for compliance.
If the holding area setting is turned on, members can choose not to correct any non-compliant attributes values and continue. Compliant files will upload to the target folder and non-compliant files will be stored in the holding area. The attribute values can be edited later so the files display in the relevant folder.
If the holding area setting is turned off, all selected files need to be compliant to upload to the target folder. Non-compliant files won't be uploaded to the target folder or be stored in the holding area.
The holding area will automatically be turned on for the first time if any of the following occur:
Project administrators can manually turn the holding area setting on or off.
Click the Files tool.
Click the Settings drop-down.
Hover over Compliance.
Click Holding area.
This opens the holding area setting.
Click the toggle to turn the holding area on or off as required.
If you turn the holding area off, any previously uploaded non-compliant files will remain in the holding area.
When the holding area is turned on, all project members can access it as follows:
Click Files tool.
Select the Holding Area tab.
All non-compliant files are sorted by default from the most recently added to the holding area. The holding area details:
