The following additional software tools are included with the Autodesk Fabrication products (CADmep,
ESTmep, or
CAMduct).
-
Fabrication Review
enables stakeholders to view 3D Fabrication models prior to construction without the need for Fabrication software.
Fabrication Review can view many file formats, including .CAJ, .MAJ, .ESJ, .JOT, .IFCXML, .IFCZIP, and .BIX, plus .DWG™ files as underlays. Review multiple file formats without the authorizing software. Walk-through highly detailed models for more realistic visualizations of proposed building systems. View the status of a model as tracked through Fabrication
Tracker. For more information, see
Fabrication Review.
- The
Dictionary Editor is typically used by CAD or BIM managers to customize certain text components that reside within the Fabrication products. For example, the Dictionary Editor can be used to translate the user interface text from its default English language to another language, selected from a drop-down list. The Dictionary Editor can also be used to customize certain text strings within the product user interface to more closely match your work environment or workflow.
- The
Product Information Viewer and Editor are additional interfaces that provide viewing and editing access to fabrication content source data. The Product Information Viewer is simply a read-only version of the Product Information Editor. Using the Product Information Editor, you can:
- view, edit, add or delete the following data associated with fabrication content database:
- component ID, group, manufacturer name, product name, description, size, material, specification, install type, source description, range, finish, supplier, UPC code, manufacturer ID, OEM code, Harrison code
- import\export content data to or from a .csv file or XLIFF file
You can edit the content data manually, by adding or selecting rows or cells in the table, or you can select a .CSV or XLIFF file to import. Changes are made to the specified *.map file (for example, prodinfo.map), which is typically stored in C:/Users/Public/Documents/Autodesk/Fabrication <version>/<Metric or Imperial> Content/<version>DATABASE/. When using the Product Information Editor, make sure that the Fabrication products (CADmep, ESTmep CAMduct) are not running, and no one is currently using the database you wish to edit.
The following additional software tools are included with the Autodesk Fabrication CAMduct. These tools provide additional input capabilities, helping you track components from fabrication to installation, and remotely request new components from the field.
-
Autodesk® Fabrication CAMduct™ Components
adds input stations to help increase the throughput to your production line. It enables additional operators to manage the production line, increasing productivity and flexibility on the shop floor. This application shares the Fabrication CAMduct libraries and databases, but without the ability to nest or interface with controllers and machines. Jobs created in
CAMduct Components share directly with your Fabrication CAMduct station and the next stage of the manufacturing process. For more information, see
CAMduct Components.
-
Autodesk® Fabrication Tracker™
is a status update and bar code tracking product that accepts bar code and QR code input to track and update statuses for the fabrication, transport, and installation of fabricated items and assemblies during all phases of the project. Phases or stages can be assigned to individual items or assemblies using bar code or QR code readers at assigned locations or workstations. You can print labels with bar codes or QR codes that can be scanned and updated throughout the job process to provide clients with real-time status tracking.
Tracker also provides direct benefit to the manufacturer, providing real-time progress updates to support payment applications. With Tracker, you can show exactly what has been manufactured, delivered, or installed at any point in the job process. For example, you can use Tracker to justify proportional payment by showing the client exactly what has been manufactured, delivered, or installed to date. For more information, see
Tracker.
-
Autodesk® Fabrication RemoteEntry™
is a useful tool on the job site, or in the field, that lets you remotely access the Fabrication CAMduct library and database for fast and easy fabrication of items that require modification from the original design to fit job conditions, or for replacing damaged or lost parts. Clients can send components for manufacture from the job for quick issue resolution. You can also use
RemoteEntry for remote ordering and send the request directly to the fabrication shop. For more information, see
RemoteEntry.
