To export layout point data (field points) from a model:
On this dialog, you can use the following options:
Compute Order: Optionally, you can click this button if you want to select a different start point than the start point that is listed by default as #1 in the list on this dialog. When you click this button, you are prompted, in the lower right corner of this dialog, to pick a start point. Click a point in the 3D Viewer to select a new start point. When you select a new start point, the points listed in the dialog are automatically re-ordered in the list according to the order that they will be processed, and in the 3D Viewer area, a line is drawn displaying the optimal route.
Nearest Neighbors: The value entered here is used to help calculate an optimal route based on the specified start point and the 10 (or whatever number is specified here) points that are nearest to that start point. 10 is the default. Note that increasing this number to greater than 10 can sometimes result in substantially increased processing time.
Use Order Number As Point Name: When you click this option, the field point names change to the order number of the points.
The Save Export File As dialog displays.
A dialog notifies you of how many field points were extracted (written) to the file.
For images that show the locations of the field points on the parts, see Field Point Locations on Patterns.
