Field Point Layout Device Support

Certain Autodesk Fabrication hanger and wall/slab patterns (CIDs) contain 'layout points' that can be exported and read by a robotic point layout device. For example, a robotic point layout device, such as a Robotic Total Station (RTS), can automatically shoot point locations for hanger or support attachments and sleeve layout in walls and floor slabs. These layout points are sometimes also referred to as 'field points'.

Using CADmep, you can export the field point layout data from these parts to a file type that can be read by a robotic point layout device. The Autodesk Fabrication patterns (CIDs) listed below have the ability to support field point layout:

For step-by-step instructions on how to export field point data from CADmep, see Exporting Field Point Data. For images that show the locations of field points on the patterns, see Field Point Locations on Patterns.

Note: The names and descriptions assigned to the patterns are customizable; therefore, in the configurations, the names and description for these CIDs may be different than what is displayed here.
