- If you can do it in the cloud, please do so. MEP Content Editor offers better data validation and protection, reducing the risk of issues.
- Avoid moving or copying files in Explorer, as this can cause data clashes and prevent syncing. If a clash occurs, your desktop changes will be discarded when re-syncing.
- New Parts: If you need to add new parts in MEP Content Editor and can't duplicate existing ones, convert the parts to a product listing and add at least one name entry. This will make the part editable and visible in the geometry table in MEP Content Editor.
- Impact to Navigation in MEP Content Editor: Switching a configuration to desktop mode will return all users in MEP Content Editor to the configuration home screen.
- Prodinfo Data: Once uploaded, prodinfo data isn't re-processed due to the significant processing time required.
- Profiles: Connecting a cloud configuration to CADmep, CAMDuct, and ESTmep enables the use of profiles in Revit via MEP Content Editor. However, MEP Content Editor cannot edit profile specific data. All profile data will only be editable in the desktop apps (CADmep, CAMDuct, and ESTmep).
- Editing identity data on parts shared in profiles will move parts into the cloud folders. This will break service templates in profiles. These can be repaired in CADmep, CAMDuct, and ESTmep.
- Competitive data will not be protected under the additional access control, this can be hidden using CADmep, CAMDuct, and ESTmep.
- Script Files: It's currently not possible to create new script files (.cod) in ESTmep while in desktop mode.
- CNC Machine Folders: Machine data will be included in data now stored in the cloud.
