Profiler options sets the sensitivity of the auto repair function in Profiler. If parts fail to auto repair, you can set the values a slightly higher, although caution must be exercised if deliberate gaps are to be preserved. To access and amend these settings, click on File Setup Database and select the Manufacturing Options section.
Print Reports when NC is written from Profiler: Select this option to enable the printing of reports when writing NC directly from within the Profiler program.
Allow Repair: Select this option to enable the auto repair function when profiling a CAD part.
Repair options: These values determine how precise the drawing must be before it is auto repaired. If the parts in Profiler are not being repaired, raise these values a little.
Error Tolerance: This is treated as a lower threshold below which rounding errors are ignored. Any Line or Arc smaller than this will be stripped out, Lines and Arcs larger than this size are imported. Any Gap smaller than this will be ignored and not repaired.
Deliberate Gap Size: Gaps greater than this value are treated as a deliberate separation between cuts. Gaps smaller than the Deliberate gap Size but larger than the Error Tolerance will be closed by the repair methods if Allow Repair is ticked.
Maximum Lead Size: Limits the lead size for leads already present on the drawing.
DXF Import: These values determine how Profiler will process DXF data when Imported into Profiler.
Elements: Determines whether the imported elements are to be treated as any other element (Process), displayed in Opus but not profiled (Display Only), or omitted from the drawing altogether (Ignore).
Text Islands: Determines whether imported text is to be treated as any other island (Process), displayed in Opus but not profiled (Display Only) or omitted from the drawing altogether (Ignore).
Points: Functions in the same way as text islands and elements but decides the profiling status of single points.
Carry Over Information: When this option is selected, the settings determined in Main Database Takeoff Item Entry are used. For more information, see Setting Carry Over Options.
