ConstructionPlanePerpendicularDefinition Object

Description

ConstructionPlanePerpendicularDefinition defines a ConstructionPlane that is perpendicular to the input face or plane.

Name Description
classType

Static function that all classes support that returns the type of the class as a string. The returned string matches the string returned by the objectType property. For example if you have a reference to an object and you want to check if it's a SketchLine you can use myObject.objectType == fusion.SketchLine.classType().

redefine

Redefines the input geometry of the construction plane.

Properties

Name Description
distance Returns the ModelParameter object that controls the offset distance of the construction plane from its base position. The base position is the representative point on the planarEntity (the center of its bounding box), from which the plane is offset along the perpendicular direction.
isUDirection Returns true if the construction plane is aligned with the U axis of the reference face; returns false if it is aligned with the V axis.
isValid Indicates if this object is still valid, i.e. hasn't been deleted or some other action done to invalidate the reference.
objectType This property is supported by all objects in the API and returns a string that contains the full name (namespace::objecttype) describing the type of the object.

It's often useful to use this in combination with the classType method to see if an object is a certain type. For example: if obj.objectType == adsk.core.Point3D.classType():
parentConstructionPlane Returns the ConstructionPlane object
planarEntity Gets the face or plane the construction plane is perpendicular to. This may be a planar BRepFace, a cylindrical/conical/toroidal BRepFace, a ConstructionPlane, a Profile, or a Sketch.
referenceEntity Gets the optional reference entity that the construction plane passes through. May be a BRepVertex, ConstructionPoint, SketchPoint, planar BRepFace, or ConstructionPlane. Returns null when no reference was supplied.
