This functionality is provided as a preview
of intended future API capabilities. You are encouraged to use it and report any problems or suggestions using the
Fusion API and Scripts forum.
Because this is a preview of future functionality, there is the possibility that it will change, which will possibly
break any existing programs that use this functionality. Because of that, you should never deliver any programs that use
any preview capabilities. For a distributed program, you should wait until it has moved from preview to released state.
Defines all of the information required to create a cosmetic bend feature. A cosmetic bend is a reference bend line used for manufacturing annotation, such as a press brake or crease mark, and does not modify the sheet metal solid.
The bend radius applies only to press brake cosmetic bends. Use the setToPressBrake method to define a press brake bend, and the bendRadius property to override its radius, or the setToCrease method to define a crease, which has no radius.
| Name | Description |
| classType |
Static function that all classes support that returns the type of the class as a string. The returned string matches the string returned by the objectType property. For example if you have a reference to an object and you want to check if it's a SketchLine you can use myObject.objectType == fusion.SketchLine.classType(). |
| setToCrease |
Defines the cosmetic bend as a crease, which is a sharp bend with no defined radius. Calling this method sets the bendType property to CreaseCosmeticBendType and clears any previously supplied bend radius information, as a crease has no radius concept. |
| setToPressBrake |
Defines the cosmetic bend as a press brake bend, which is formed by an actual press brake tool and therefore has a defined bend angle and bend radius. Calling this method sets the bendType property to PressBrakeCosmeticBendType. The bend radius will follow the active sheet metal rule by default. To override the bend radius, use the bendRadiusOverride property. |
| Name | Description |
| angle | Gets and sets the value input that defines the bend angle. This parameter exists regardless of bendType, but only affects the geometry when bendType is PressBrakeCosmeticBendType, it has no effect when bendType is CreaseCosmeticBendType. Prefer setting this together with the setToPressBrake method. Use this property directly to adjust the angle afterward without changing the bend radius or rule settings. |
| bendRadiusOverride | Bend-radius override for this cosmetic bend. Never null; check isOverridden to see if active. Only applicable to press brake cosmetic bends. |
| bendType | Gets the type of cosmetic bend, either a press brake bend or a crease. The type is determined by the value passed to CosmeticBendFeatures.createInput and can be changed by calling the setToPressBrake or setToCrease method. |
| isDirectionUp | Gets and sets the direction of the cosmetic bend relative to the sheet metal face. True indicates the up direction and false indicates the down direction. The physical meaning of up and down depends on the bend type. |
| isValid | Indicates if this object is still valid, i.e. hasn't been deleted or some other action done to invalidate the reference. |
| notes | Gets and sets the informational notes associated with the cosmetic bend. This text is used for manufacturing annotation and does not affect the geometry. |
| objectType | This property is supported by all objects in the API and returns a string that contains the full name (namespace::objecttype) describing the type of the object. It's often useful to use this in combination with the classType method to see if an object is a certain type. For example: if obj.objectType == adsk.core.Point3D.classType(): |
| referenceLine | Gets and sets the sketch line that the cosmetic bend is drawn along. It must exist in a sketch created in the flat pattern in which the cosmetic bend is being created, and it must lie on the top face of the flat pattern. |
| Name | Description |
| Cosmetic Bend Sample | Demonstrates creating sheet metal cosmetic bend features in a flat pattern: a press brake bend with an explicit radius override and custom angle, and a crease bend with manufacturing notes. |
