TSplineBodies.createBoxInput Method

Parent Object: TSplineBodies
Defined in namespace "adsk::fusion" and the header file is <Fusion/TSpline/TSplineBodies.h>

Description

Creates a TSplineBoxInput object that is used to define all of the input required to create a box shaped T-Spline body. The fully defined TSplineBoxInput object is passed into the add method to create the actual T-Spline body. The origin, xDirection, and yDirection define a coordinate system in space where length is x, width is y, and height is z. X and Y directions are explicitly defined using arguments and Z is derived by using the right-hand rule and crossing X into the Y direction.

Additional settings can be defined using the returned TSplineBoxInput object.

Syntax

"tSplineBodies_var" is a variable referencing a TSplineBodies object.

returnValue = tSplineBodies_var.createBoxInput(origin, xDirection, yDirection, xSize, ySize, zSize)

Return Value

Type Description
TSplineBoxInput Returns the newly created TSplineBoxInput object or null if the creation failed.

Parameters

Name Type Description
origin Point3D The corner point of the box. The xSize, ySize and zSize are measured from this point in the X, Y and Z directions.
xDirection Vector3D A vector defining the X direction.
yDirection Vector3D A vector defining the Y direction. This should be perpendicular to the xDirection.
xSize double The size of the box in the X direction in centimeters.
ySize double The size of the box in the Y direction in centimeters.
zSize double The size of the box in the Z direction in centimeters.

Samples

Name Description
T-Spline Body API Sample Demonstrates creating a box T-Spline body in a Form feature, transforming a face, reading the face's smooth-surface area, creasing edges, finishing the form edit, and getting the resulting B-Rep body.
