TSplineBodies Object

Derived from: Base Object
Defined in namespace "adsk::fusion" and the header file is <Fusion/TSpline/TSplineBodies.h>

Description

A collection of TSpline bodies.

Methods

Name Description
addByShapeInput

Creates a new T-Spline body of the shape specified by the input.

addByTSMDescription

Creates a new TSplineBody using the T-Spline description provided by the input string which contains TSM formatted text.

addByTSMFile

Creates a new TSplineBody by reading in a TSM file from disk.

classType

Static function that all classes support that returns the type of the class as a string. The returned string matches the string returned by the objectType property. For example if you have a reference to an object and you want to check if it's a SketchLine you can use myObject.objectType == fusion.SketchLine.classType().

createBoxInput

Creates a TSplineBoxInput object that is used to define all of the input required to create a box shaped T-Spline body. The fully defined TSplineBoxInput object is passed into the add method to create the actual T-Spline body. The origin, xDirection, and yDirection define a coordinate system in space where length is x, width is y, and height is z. X and Y directions are explicitly defined using arguments and Z is derived by using the right-hand rule and crossing X into the Y direction.

Additional settings can be defined using the returned TSplineBoxInput object.

createCylinderInput

Creates a TSplineCylinderInput object that is used to define all of the input required to create a cylinder shaped T-Spline body. The fully defined TSplineCylinderInput object is passed into the add method to create the actual T-Spline body. The origin, xDirection, and yDirection define a coordinate system in space where the axis of the cylinder is in the Z direction.

Additional settings can be defined using the returned TSplineCylinderInput object.

createPlaneInput

Creates a TSplinePlaneInput object that is used to define all of the input required to create a plane shaped T-Spline body. The fully defined TSplinePlaneInput object is passed into the add method to create the actual T-Spline body. The origin, xDirection, and yDirection define a coordinate system in space where length is x, width is y.

Additional settings can be defined using the returned TSplinePlaneInput object.

createQuadballInput

Creates a TSplineQuadballInput object that is used to define all of the input required to create a quadball shaped T-Spline body. The fully defined TSplineQuadballInput object is passed into the add method to create the actual T-Spline body. The origin, xDirection, and yDirection define a coordinate system in space where the axis of the quadball is in the Z direction.

Additional settings can be defined using the returned TSplineQuadballInput object.

createSphereInput

Creates a TSplineSphereInput object that is used to define all of the input required to create a sphere shaped T-Spline body. The fully defined TSplineSphereInput object is passed into the add method to create the actual T-Spline body. The origin, xDirection, and yDirection define a coordinate system in space where the axis of the sphere is in the Z direction.

Additional settings can be defined using the returned TSplineSphereInput object.

createTorusInput

Creates a TSplineTorusInput object that is used to define all of the input required to create a torus shaped T-Spline body. The fully defined TSplineTorusInput object is passed into the add method to create the actual T-Spline body. The origin, xDirection, and yDirection define a coordinate system in space where the axis of the torus is in the Z direction.

Additional settings can be defined using the returned TSplineTorusInput object.

item

Function that returns the specified T-Spline body using an index into the collection.

itemByName

Returns a TSplineBody by specifying the name of the body as seen in the browser.

Properties

Name Description
count The number of bodies in the collection.
isValid Indicates if this object is still valid, i.e. hasn't been deleted or some other action done to invalidate the reference.
objectType This property is supported by all objects in the API and returns a string that contains the full name (namespace::objecttype) describing the type of the object.

It's often useful to use this in combination with the classType method to see if an object is a certain type. For example: if obj.objectType == adsk.core.Point3D.classType():
