Override appearance

You can modify the appearance of the existing materials used in your design.

Use Appearance to override the default appearance assigned to the physical material. Appearance changes do not affect the engineering properties.

  1. Open the Appearance dialog. Use one of the following ways:
    1. In the ribbon, expand the Transform drop-down, and select appearance icon Appearance.
    2. Select the component in the graphics window, right-click, and select appearance icon Appearance.
    3. Click an item in the Actions Panel, right-click, and select appearance icon Appearance.
  2. In the Appearance dialog:
    • Scope: Select if you want to change appearance of a component in a whole document, or in an active storyboard.
    • In This Design: Lists appearances used in a current design. Hover over the image to get the appearance name.
    • Library: Use the drop-down to select a library and appearance to be used to override the desired appearance.
  3. To apply the selected appearance to the component, drag the desired appearance and drop it onto the component directly.
