Adjust Design History preference for new designs

Learn how to adjust your Design History preference for new designs in Fusion.

1. In the upper-right, click your Avatar.

2. Select Preferences.

   The Preferences dialog opens.

3. In the left panel, select Design.

4. In the main panel, next to Design History, click to expand the menu.

5. Select your preference:

   • Capture Design History (Parametric Modeling mode): Tracks each feature in a parametric Timeline as you evolve the design.
   • Do Not Capture Design History (Direct Modeling mode): Does not track features parametrically.
   • Prompt: Displays a prompt that lets you select the modeling mode each time you create a design.

6. Click OK.

The next time you create a design, Fusion will use your preference to determine the modeling mode or prompt you to decide.
