Create contact sets

Learn how to use the Enable Contact Sets, New Contact Set, Enable All Contact, and Disable All Contact commands to constrain and analyze contact between two or more components in Fusion.

Create a contact set

  1. On the toolbar, select Assemble > Enable Contact Sets enable contact sets icon.

  2. Select Assemble > New Contact Set enable contact sets icon.

    The New Contact Set dialog displays.

  3. In the canvas or the Browser, select two or more components.

  4. Click OK.

The new contact set displays in the Contact Sets folder in the Browser. The selected components are constrained together when contact sets are enabled.

Edit a contact set

  1. In the Browser, expand the Contact Sets folder.

  2. Right-click the contact set, then select Edit.

    The Edit dialog displays, and the selected components are highlighted in the canvas.

  3. In the canvas or the Browser, click components to add them to or remove them from the contact set.

  4. Click OK.

The contact set updates to include or exclude the components you added or removed.

Suppress or unsuppress a contact set

  1. In the Browser, expand the Contact Sets folder.
  2. Next to the contact set, click Suppress or Unsuppress.

The contact set is suppressed or unsuppressed until you click the icon again.

Enable all contact sets

On the toolbar, select Assemble > Enable All Contact enable contact sets icon to turn on contact analysis for all components.

Disable all contact sets

On the toolbar, select Assemble > Disable All Contact disable contact sets icon to turn off contact analysis for all components.
