Create a tangent relationship

Learn how to use the Tangent Relationship command to create a tangent relationship between a face on a body in one component and a set of connected faces on a body in another component within an assembly in Fusion.

1. Click Design > Solid > Assemble > Tangent Relationship .

   The Tangent Relationship dialog displays.

2. In the canvas, select a face on a body in Component 1.

3. Select a face on a body in Component 2.

   The components move to display a preview of the tangent relationship.

4. Click OK.

The new tangent relationship is established between the selected bodies in the two components. The selected faces maintain a positional relationship tangent to each other.

Tips

• Add joints first, then define tangent relationships.
• Select the faces that you want to maintain tangency to enhance the motion of the jointed assembly.
