The Slot toolpath is used to machine slots that are semi-open or closed. The toolpath is driven by a selection of edges or sketches. The diameter of the selected tool should be equal to, or be smaller than, the width of the slot. Slots can be straight, circular, or contain multiple curves. Lastly, the slots must have a continuous width.

Increase the safety of the toolpath by using Backoff Distance parameter so that the tool does not retract when near the edges of the slot. You can use the Repeat Finishing Pass parameter to clear any stock left over from tool-deflection for a better surface finish.
