Collision avoidance for drilling helps produce safer toolpaths by reducing the chances of collisions:
In the Manufacture workspace toolbar, select Milling > Drilling > Drill. The Drill dialog appears.
On the Tool tab, select the Shaft & Holder checkbox.
From the Shaft and Holder Mode drop-down menu, select what to do when there is a possible collision between the shaft or holder and the part. For example, selecting Skip colliding holes removes all the holes from the toolpath where a collision has been detected.
Enter a Shaft Clearance value.
Enter a Holder Clearance value.
On the Linking tab, verify that the Ignore Gouges checkbox is deselected. The Retraction Policy and Safe Distance settings appear.
From the Retraction Policy drop-down menu, select Avoid Collisions.

Specify a Safe Distance to keep the tool away from the part's surfaces during link moves.

Program the remainder of the drilling operation then click OK.
