The Hole Template Editor defines and manages hole machining templates in Fusion.
It supports hole recognition and machining workflows, especially for complex or custom hole geometry that needs a defined machining strategy.
Build detailed hole signatures from Cylinder, Cone, and Torus segments. Each segment can use specific dimensions, a range, or any size. The preview updates as you edit.
You can pick a hole signature from the model and preview which holes match it.
You can add optional limits so the template matches the right holes: model color, thread designation on Cylinder segments, or PMI-based dimensions and tolerances.
Set Template priority so Fusion knows which template to use first when more than one could apply to the same hole.
Add, remove, reorder, and edit operations used by the template. For step-by-step help with Tool options, Search criteria, and fallback Drill chains, see Configure hole template operations.
You can also create fallback operations that automatically run when a primary operation cannot complete holes due to collision avoidance. Fallback operations typically use longer tools to reach areas where the primary operation encountered collisions.
