Split support structures
Ensure that you have an additive setup with an additive machine selected.
On the Manufacture workspace toolbar, click Additive > Modify > Split Supports
.The Split Supports dialog opens.
On the canvas, click the bodies that you want to separate from the support structure.
If multiple types of support structures are used on the selected bodies, choose an Operation to determine how they are handled. Choose:
Merge to combine any closed and open support structures into a single mesh body.
Separate to generate separate mesh bodies for the closed and open support structures.
Closed support structures have a solid filling type. Open support structures have a nonsolid filling type, such as hatches or crosses. Open support structures are often used in areas where less dense support is needed.
In the Add Mesh Body To list, choose to add the mesh body or bodies to the component in the manufacturing model that contains the original body being split from the supports, or to a new component in the manufacturing model.
Click OK.
