Generate a Multi-Axis Finishing toolpath

  1. On the Manufacture workspace toolbar, click Milling > Multi-Axis > Multi-Axis Finishing multi-axis finishing icon.

    The Multi-Axis Finishing dialog opens.

  2. On the Tool tab, click Select to pick a tool. If you have not created a tool to use, In the left panel of the dialog, from the Fusion Library, pick a tool from the Sample Tools library.

    Tip: Circle segment tools are best suited for the Multi-Axis Finishing strategy.

  3. On the Geometry tab, from Areas to Machine, select Floor or Wall.

  4. If Areas to Machine is Floor:

    1. Select floor surfaces.
    2. For Offset Passes Using, select Automatic offsets, Selection, or Longest edge.

  5. If Areas to Machine is Wall:

    1. Select wall surfaces.

    2. From Type of Passes, select Scallop, Blend, or Contour.

    3. In the Floor Surfaces group, select floor surfaces when Scallop or Blend is selected, or when Contour uses a pass direction normal to the floor surface.

      Tip: Contour creates horizontal passes using a floor-surface normal or a defined direction. It does not require a floor surface for other direction options.

  6. Click OK.

    The toolpath is generated.
