Configure properties

Learn how to configure the Part Number and Description properties for configurations and their internal components in Fusion.

Configure the part number for a configuration

  1. On the Design workspace toolbar, click Configure > Display Configuration Table configuration table icon.

    The Configuration Table displays.

  2. Click the Properties tab.

  3. In the Part Number column, enter a unique part number for the Configuration.

  4. Press Enter.

The Part Number updates for that Configuration.

Configure the description for a configuration

  1. In the Configuration Table, click the Properties tab.
  2. In the Description column, enter a unique description for the Configuration.
  3. Press Enter.

The Description updates for that Configuration.

Add an internal component's properties from the Browser

  1. In the Browser, select an internal Component:

    • In Configuration Mode, click a highlighted component.

    • Outside Configuration Mode, right-click a component and select Configure.

      The Configure dialog displays.

  2. Check Properties.

  3. Click OK.

The Component displays as a row in the Properties table for each Configuration where it is unsuppressed.

Add an internal component's properties from the Configuration Table

  1. In the Properties tab, click Add Components.

    Configuration Mode is activated and internal components are highlighted in the Browser.

  2. In the Browser, click an internal component.

The Component displays as a row in the Properties table for each Configuration where it is unsuppressed.

Configure properties for a component

  1. In the Properties tab of the Configuration Table, expand a Configuration row to display its list of internal components.
  2. For each Component:
    • In the Part Number column, enter a unique part number.
    • In the Description column, enter a unique description.
  3. Press Enter.

The Part Number and Description updates for each internal component in the Configuration that you modified.
