Generate a timeline

Use AutoTimeline to create a parametric Timeline from a solid body. Fusion saves it in a new design.

From the context menu

1. In the Browser, right-click a supported solid body.

2. Select Generate Timeline.

   The AutoTimeline panel displays.

3. In the panel, click Select body, then select the body to use.

4. Click OK.

   A notification shows that Fusion is processing your request.

   To check progress, click the link in the notification to open Job Status . You can also click Job Status in the Application bar.

5. When timeline generation completes, click Open timeline link in the notification.

   Fusion opens the new design with the Timeline. If Job Status is open, it closes.

From the Create menu

1. On the toolbar, click Design > Solid > Create > Generate Timeline.

   The AutoTimeline panel displays.

2. In the panel, click Select body, then select a supported solid body in the Browser.

3. Click OK.

   A notification shows that Fusion is processing your request.

   To check progress, click the link in the notification to open Job Status . You can also click Job Status in the Application bar.

4. When timeline generation completes, click Open timeline link in the notification.

   Fusion opens the new design with the Timeline. If Job Status is open, it closes.

Tips

• To generate timelines for multiple bodies, repeat these steps for each body.
• To capture design history in the current design, switch to Parametric Modeling Mode.
• To add browser features without changing geometry, use Find Features in direct modeling mode.
