Create and modify leader notes (Drawing workspace)

Learn how to create a note with a leader on a sheet in the Drawing workspace in Fusion.

Create a leader note

  1. On the toolbar, select Text > Leader Note leader icon.

The Note dialog displays and Type is set to Leader Note.

  1. Click the edge of a feature to place the arrowhead.

  2. Click to place the leader line.

The text box and the Text dialog display.

  3. Enter and format the text:

    • Type in the text box on the sheet.
    • In the dialog, adjust the text settings:
      • Font
      • Height
      • Emphasis
      • List Format
      • Justification
      • Symbols
  4. Click anywhere on the sheet or click Close to complete the leader note.

The leader note displays on the current sheet and is associated with the feature you selected when you placed the arrowhead.

Note: Leader notes are intended to associate with specific features. If you move a drawing view, the arrowheads and leader lines of all leader notes associated with that drawing view will adjust with it. If you delete a feature that has an associated leader note, that leader note will become disassociated.

Change the location of a leader

  1. Click the leader.
  2. Click one of the gray grips.
  3. Click a new location.

The leader moves to the new location on the sheet.

Note: If you move the arrowhead, the leader will disassociate the note from its associated feature. If you move the feature in the design, the note will no longer automatically adjust with it.
