Create projected view placeholders

Learn how to create projected view placeholders in a drawing template in the Drawing workspace in Fusion.

  1. Create or open a drawing template.

  2. In the Template contextual environment, on the toolbar click Create > Projected View Placeholder projected view placeholder.

  3. Click to select the base view placeholder to use as the parent.

  4. Drag the mouse away from the parent view, in the direction of the projected view you want to create.

    • Right: Drag to the right (0 degrees).
    • NE Isometric: Drag to the upper right (45 degrees).
    • Top: Drag straight up (90 degrees).
    • NW Isometric: Drag to the upper left (135 degrees).
    • Left: Drag to the left (180 degrees).
    • SW Isometric: Drag to the lower left (225 degrees).
    • Bottom: Drag straight down (270 degrees).
    • SE Isometric: Drag to the lower right (315 degrees).

    A preview of the projected view placeholder displays at the cursor.

  5. Click to place the projected view placeholder on the sheet.

  6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to place additional views.

  7. Press Enter to complete the Projected View Placeholder command.

The projected view placeholders display on the sheet.
