Create aligned dimensions

Learn how to use the Aligned Dimension tool in the Drawing workspace in Fusion to create dimensions that measure the precise distance between two points on a sheet.

Create an aligned dimension by selecting two points

  1. On the toolbar, select Dimension > Aligned Dimension aligned dimension icon.
  2. On the sheet, select the first end point to measure.
  3. Select the second point.
  4. Move the mouse pointer to position the dimension.
  5. Click to place the dimension.

The dimension displays on the sheet and is associated with the geometry that it measures in the drawing view.

Create an aligned dimension by selecting an edge

  1. On the toolbar, select Dimension > Aligned Dimension aligned dimension icon.
  2. Press the Spacebar to switch from point selection to edge selection.
  3. On the sheet, select the edge.
  4. Move the mouse pointer to position the dimension.
  5. Click to place the dimension.

The dimension displays on the sheet and is associated with the geometry that it measures in the drawing view.
