Create chain dimensions

Learn how to use the Chain Dimension tool in the Drawing workspace in Fusion to create a series of linear dimensions that measure distance from the end of the previous dimension on a sheet.

Note: You must first create a linear or aligned dimension to use as a baseline.
  1. On the toolbar, select Dimensions > Baseline Dimension baseline dimension icon.
  2. On the sheet, select the extension line of an existing linear or aligned dimension as the starting point for the next dimension.
  3. Select a second point to define the next dimension in the chain.
  4. Optional: Select additional points to create additional dimensions in the chain.
  5. Press Enter.

The dimensions display on the sheet, each measured from the end of the previous dimension in the chain. The dimensions are associated with the geometry that they measure in the drawing view.
