Edit design preferences

1. On the PCB Rules toolbar, click Preferences > Design Preferences.

2. In the Design Preferences dialog, select a tab to set up your design:

   • Layer Stack: Set the number of copper layers, the multilayer structure, and the via types your board uses.
   • Shapes: Set the default shapes for pads and SMDs.
   • Supply: Set the thermal symbols used in copper planes.
   • Drill Legend: Assign a symbol to each drill diameter used in the design.
   • Designators: Control how reference designators display for designs that use modules.

3. Adjust the values to match your requirements or your board manufacturer's specifications.

Tip: When you select a parameter, a reference image appears to help guide your settings.
