Edit an attribute value

Edit attribute values to define or override component properties at a specific scope. Choose a higher scope to apply a value across multiple components or the entire library, or a lower scope to override existing default values. By default, the edit scope matches the scope used when the value was last set.

Prerequisites

  1. Open the Attributes dialog.
  2. Make sure you are viewing attributes for the desired component variant.

Steps

  1. In the Attributes dialog, double-click a cell in the attributes table, or right-click a cell and select Edit Value to bring up the Edit Value dialog.

  2. Select a scope for the new value.

    • Library: Applies the value to all components and variants in the library.
    • The Component: Applies the value to all variants of the current component.
    • This Variant: Applies the value to all attribute sets of the current variant.
    • Attribute Set: Applies the value to the selected attribute set of the current variant.
  3. Enter the desired value.

  4. Click OK to apply the change.

Note: Values set at a lower scope override values set at higher scopes.
