Edit asset descriptions in an Electronics Library

Any type of asset in a library can be given a description. The description can be seen when browsing for assets in the Place Panel or used by the search function when placing a component in a design.

  1. In the Content Manager in the component row, right-click and select Edit Description.
  2. Enter the description in the text box of the dialog.
  3. Click OK to save the description.
  4. The description displays in the Content Manager Details section.
Note: Previously created descriptions may have HTML, but new descriptions are required to no longer have HTML tags. Use the Remove HTML button to quickly remove HTML from an existing description. To add a datasheet link for a library or component, use the DATASHEET attribute instead.
